A Pastel + Coastal Tented Wedding at The Rams Head Inn
The Venue: The Rams Head Inn
This pastel coastal tented wedding at the Ram’s Head Inn was the perfect reflection of our couple’s vision. For our couple, the Ram’s Head Inn was the perfect backdrop to their celebration—an elegant yet relaxed coastal escape that felt deeply aligned with their love for nature. Tucked away on Shelter Island, it offered the intimacy of a private retreat while still capturing the expansive beauty of the North Fork. The couple was drawn to its sweeping waterfront views, the timeless charm of the inn, and the seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces, which allowed their guests to experience the natural beauty they both love. With its balance of sophistication and laid-back coastal spirit, the venue reflected exactly what they envisioned: a wedding that felt warm, inviting, and effortlessly true to who they are.
The Paper
The couple opted for a suit from Minted, and we helped them select the perfect design to complement the lush florals planned for their day. Their stationery featured delicate blooms and romantic lettering, with illustrations that mirrored the embroidered flowers on the bride’s dress—an intentional detail that tied everything together. On the wedding day, Megan Fahy added a final coastal touch by calligraphing shells as place cards, seamlessly blending romance with the seaside setting.
The Ceremony
The ceremony took place beneath a chuppah set by the gazebo, where live string musicians played as guests gathered by the water. Overlooking the Peconic Bay, the couple exchanged vows framed by a lush display of pastel blooms. The chuppah was designed to feel organic and romantic, with branches woven through soft shades of blush, peach, yellow, and powder blue, echoing the couple’s coastal-inspired palette. It created a breathtaking focal point that honored tradition while blending seamlessly with the natural beauty of the shoreline. The asymmetry felt modern and unique like the couple’s fun nature!
Tented Dinner + Dancing
We designed this tented wedding to feel like a coastal dream—airy, romantic, and deeply personal to our couple. Under a sailcloth tent, we layered soft greenery overhead with woven rattan lanterns and a mirrored disco ball, all glowing beneath strands of twinkling lights. Tables were dressed in muted blue linens that nodded to the sea, paired with bentwood chairs for an elegant yet relaxed touch. Lush pastel florals in blush and peach, paired with tall taper candles and delicate glass vessels, added warmth and romance. The result was a celebration that felt effortlessly refined, bringing the beauty of the North Fork’s shoreline into a joyful, inviting space.
Other Details
The groom’s love for vintage cars inspired one of the most memorable moments of the day: the couple’s grand entrance in a stunning pink Cadillac. Its playful hue and retro charm tied perfectly into the pastel coastal palette, creating an unforgettable scene as they arrived to cheers from their guests. Later in the evening, the design carried through to the cake, which mimicked the bride’s embroidered gown with cascading fresh florals in blush, peach, and soft pops of blue. Together, the car and cake became statement details—personal, stylish, and seamlessly woven into the couple’s romantic celebration.
