A Bold + Colorful Wythe Hotel Wedding
The Venue: The Wythe Hotel
We absolutely loved planning Zoe + Sameh's bold and colorful Wythe Hotel wedding! The iconic Wythe Hotel located in Williamsburg offered the perfect mix of raw industrial beauty and refined elegance, creating a stunning backdrop for their celebration. With its striking exposed brick walls, floor-to-ceiling windows, and sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline, the space radiated a cool, urban energy that perfectly matched the couple’s dynamic style. From the heartfelt ceremony to the chic and intimate reception filled with laughter and bold, vibrant decor, every moment felt like a true reflection of Zoe and Sameh’s playful and adventurous spirit as a couple!
The Paper
Julia Bez’s paper designs brought an elevated sense of boldness and playfulness to this colorful Wythe Hotel wedding. The seating chart featured vibrant illustrations of abstract shapes and florals in energetic tones of orange, pink, yellow, and purple, framed by clean and elegant typography that made navigating the arrangement seamless for guests. Complementing this, the table settings showcased personalized menus and name cards that mirrored the same lively palette, blending beautifully with the floral arrangements and overall decor. Adding to the artistic charm, the drink menus were thoughtfully crafted with matching colors and whimsical illustrations, making the bar experience a cohesive extension of the wedding's design. The thoughtful integration of these vibrant paper elements not only tied the design together but also added an artistic and joyful layer to the celebration, perfectly embodying the wedding's spirited and dynamic aesthetic.
The Ceremony
The ceremony was an absolute showstopper for guests, featuring a breathtaking floral installation that embodied bold creativity and vibrant elegance. Designed in the shape of a heart cutout, the flowers were arranged in a striking color-blocked palette of pink, yellow, purple, and blue hues. This stunning design created a perfect frame, allowing the Wythe Hotel’s iconic brick backdrop to peek through the center, adding depth and texture to the scene. Adding to the visual harmony, the white midcentury chairs offered a modern and clean contrast to the whimsical, colorful flowers, balancing the playful energy of the florals with sleek, contemporary sophistication. The interplay of bold blooms, industrial charm, and modern design left guests in awe of the artistic vision and heartfelt symbolism.
The Reception
The reception design beautifully extended the vibrant color story of the ceremony, weaving in unique shapes, tropical plants integrated into striking ceiling installations, and an added burst of orange alongside modern plant elements for a fresh and dynamic touch. Tables were dressed in rich purple linens, paired with bold pink napkins, while smaller floral arrangements in the same vibrant hues graced the tables in sleek white ceramic vases, complemented by elegant white taper candles. The sleek, white midcentury chairs from the ceremony reappeared, maintaining a clean, modern aesthetic. Overhead, the tropical ceiling elements added dimension and a lush sense of whimsy, while Jove’s innovative table arrangement—featuring a symmetrical yet varied layout with tables oriented in different directions—made a bold and impactful statement. The result was a reception space that felt contemporary, playful, and artfully composed.
The Cake
Zoe and Sameh’s wedding cake was a stunning reflection of the vibrant colors that defined their reception. The cake echoed the playful and lively color palette throughout the celebration in an artful way. Each tier was elegantly decorated with colorful “brush stroke” paying homage to Julia’s Bez’s paper goods and making the cake feel both whimsical and refined. At the top, in bold lettering, the word "Yippee" was cheerfully scripted, encapsulating the joy and excitement of the day. It was a perfect blend of the couple’s playful and fun spirit for this bold and colorful wedding!
