A Colorful + Fabulous Asbury Hotel Wedding
The Venue
Maeve and Jenny's wedding at The Asbury Hotel was a truly unforgettable celebration filled with color, creativity, and love! The choice of venue, with its vibrant retro-chic design and inclusive ethos, perfectly complemented the couple's desire for a unique and welcoming atmosphere. The Asbury Hotel's transformation from its 1960s origins into a symbol of Asbury Park's revitalization reflects the spirit of progress and community that Maeve and Jenny embraced in their marriage. Its eclectic furnishings and dynamic personality provided an ideal backdrop for a wedding that celebrated diversity and love in all its forms. With its history of hosting a wide range of events, from live music performances to LGBTQ+ gatherings, The Asbury Hotel offered a versatile and inclusive space for Maeve and Jenny's wedding. Exchanging vows surrounded by colorful decor and dancing the night away to their favorite tunes, every aspect of their celebration was infused with joy and authenticity.
The Invitations
The collaborative effort with the Fourteen Forty team resulted in a playful wedding invitation, offering a glimpse into Maeve and Jenny's joyous celebration. Vibrant turquoise and blue hues mirrored the couple's wedding attire, with hand-drawn elements like a map and their cherished dog adding a personal touch. Coasters featuring "Mazel Tov" conveyed a sense of playfulness and captured the couple's faith. The invitation cleverly hinted at the upcoming festivities, teasing the reception's ceiling installation. Additionally, the inclusion of a map provided guests with a sense of the Asbury Park area where the events would unfold, while the liner subtly reflected the colors of The Asbury Hotel, adding to the overall anticipation and excitement for the occasion. It was the perfect start to an unforgettable celebration!
The Ceremony
The couple kicked off their celebration with a meaningful ketubah signing, where the document echoed the hues of their wedding palette. Opting for a minimalist ceremony, the contrast of the chuppah carried by their dear friends stood out brilliantly against the sleek backdrop of the Asbury Hotel's contemporary landscape design of their courtyard. Sloan, of Jove Meyer Events, masterfully curated a stunning floral arrangement that complemented the earthy tones of the surroundings, adding an extra layer of elegance to the intimate affair.
The Reception
The reception stole the spotlight with its unforgettable ambiance! Guests were greeted with a unique seating chart display created by fourteen forty. Drawing from a local New Jersey farmer, Meg Despres, we adorned the space with seasonal blooms, expertly arranged by Sloan using stunning ceramic vases from the couple's favorite ceramic artist, Josephine Noel. The tapered candles had touches of green and also gave a fun playful feeling to the simple tableclothes. But the pièce de résistance was undeniably the vibrant color-conditioned canopy we crafted and hung, transforming the atmosphere into a joyous and celebratory spectacle that left guests in awe. All of the colors present were inspired by the fabulous graffiti signature to the Asbury Park boardwalk! This design was all about creating maximum impact where it counted!
