Taylor Hastings

Taylor Hastings

On this episode of Weddings-ish with Jove, we’re joined by Taylor Rue Hastings—a registered nurse, joyful romantic, and breakout star from Season 8 of Love Is Blind. Taylor’s story is one of serendipity, strength, and a love that grew without sight but with total emotional clarity.

Though she never planned to apply, Taylor found herself cast on the show after a casting producer slid into her DMs—one she almost ignored. At the time, her father had recently been diagnosed with cancer, and dating was far from her mind. But a little nudge from a friend turned into a life-changing “why not?” that led her to meet—and marry—Daniel.

Filming began in February 2024, and what followed was a whirlwind of connection, secrecy, and heartfelt moments behind the scenes. From journaling about each other before they ever met in person to discovering a shared obsession with Christmas, Taylor and Daniel’s relationship unfolded like a modern-day rom-com. Their connection was instant—so instant, in fact, that Daniel got down on one knee on their first pod date (yes, really).

Of course, the journey wasn’t without its bumps. Taylor opened up about the now-infamous “Instagram gate” moment and how the pressure of the show, combined with genuine fear of being misled, created real tension. But what stood out was the grace with which they handled conflict. Daniel’s calm, unwavering support reminded all of us watching what love in action really looks like.

Over the course of nine days in the pods (and over 100 hours of dates), Taylor and Daniel built a bond rooted in intentionality and mutual values. They discussed everything from family plans to personal insecurities, challenging each other to show up with honesty. As Taylor puts it, “Every hour felt like a month,” and it shows.

After saying “I do” in a Netflix-filmed wedding with just 40 guests each, the couple went on to celebrate again with a 400+ guest blowout party, complete with a private vow renewal led by Daniel’s father and a live performance by the same band that played their first wedding. Think couches, food stations, and zero formal speeches—just a full-on celebration of love and chosen family.

Beyond the fairytale, Taylor is still working as a nurse (she’s had three colonoscopies and isn’t shy about encouraging screenings!) and embracing married life with Daniel and their dog. And yes, she really does have a Taco Bell lip tattoo—faded L’s and all.

This episode is a reminder that real love is often found in unexpected places—and that being brave enough to take the leap can lead to something truly lasting.

“Every hour in the pods felt like a month. You cover more in nine days than most people get to in nine months.”
