FashioNica’s Nica Che

This week on Weddings-ish with Jove, I’m joined by Nica, founder of Fashionica, and trust me, this episode is full of incredible stories, wedding inspiration, and so many moments that will make you smile. Nica shares how she planned her stunning luxury wedding in just 90 days after a five year engagement, all while running her growing vintage fashion business. We talk about wedding planning procrastination, manifesting your dream career, and how she built Fashionica from a small side hustle into a thriving designer vintage bag business through consistency, creativity, and TikTok. She also shares the sweetest boba shop meet-cute story with her husband, including a fake plastic ring proposal on their very first date. From unpaid fashion internships to becoming a successful entrepreneur in the luxury resale space, Nica’s story is honest, inspiring, and full of personality.

We also dive deep into the wedding itself, and every detail felt intentional, personal, and completely true to who Nica and her husband are as a couple. From her ivory vintage-inspired wedding dress to the iconic floral brass clutch she carried instead of a traditional bouquet, the entire celebration reflected her love of fashion, storytelling, and thoughtful design. Nica opens up about building Fashionica during Covid, balancing a corporate marketing job while growing her business at night and on weekends, and the sacrifices it took to become a full-time entrepreneur. One of the most emotional details from the wedding was that they hand wrote personal letters in cursive to every single guest at the wedding. More than 100 letters were displayed for guests to open during the reception, creating one of the most meaningful experiences of the entire day. If you love intentional weddings, unique wedding ideas, bridal fashion, or entrepreneur success stories, this episode is packed with inspiration.

And somehow the details keep getting even better. The custom chocolate wedding invitations alone deserve their own spotlight. Inspired by both Filipino and Vietnamese flavors, the invitations featured custom chocolates with flavors like mango passionfruit and Vietnamese iced coffee, all beautifully packaged and designed as an experience guests would never forget. Instead of spending money on traditional wedding favors, Nica and her husband invested in creating memorable invitations and deeply personal wedding details, including custom bridesmaid gifts with vintage watches, personalized charms, a family crest stamp used throughout the wedding design, lucky ladybug details woven into the celebration, and a live wedding painter who invited guests to contribute to the artwork during the reception.

What I loved most about this conversation is that none of these ideas felt trendy just for the sake of social media. Every detail had meaning behind it. This wedding was about family, culture, creativity, community, and creating a wedding experience that truly reflected who they are. If you are planning a wedding, searching for luxury wedding inspiration, looking for unique wedding ideas, or dreaming of a fashion-forward wedding with intentional details, this episode of Weddings-ish with Jove is one you do not want to miss.
