Vibrant Traditions at the Green Building

Everything about Meera and Bart’s celebration reflected a love that was bold, vibrant, joyous and true. It was an epic day of multiple celebrations, meaningful details, and a dream team without which none of this would be possible.

The couple’s gorgeous welcome party the evening before set the tone for their wedding day, hinting at an event full of brilliant installations, vibrant designs, and honored Indian traditions. The guests were in for a beautiful day. Their celebration began with a morning ceremony at the Green Building. We transformed the space in a way that delighted all the senses. Florals burst in every corner, bringing stunning visuals and sweet fragrance. Gold embellishments within the space tied into the grandeur of the design. Guests were greeted with tea and small bites of masala popcorn, paneer bhurji phyllo bites and Bombay chutney sandwiches to nibble on while taking in the beauty. The ceremony took place within a spectacular mandap, incredibly brought to life by Prashe Decor. The couple felt passionately about having their ceremony reflect their beliefs on love and life, and found the perfect person to perform their rituals, priestess Sushma Dwivedi Jindal of the Purple Pundit Project, who shares in their strong convictions. Nihal Singh provided the accompanying music, adding even more ambiance and romance to the beautiful moment.

After the ceremony, guests wandered over to 501 Union where they were met with a colorful and delicious lunch. Taking inspiration from the gorgeous colors found in Indian fabrics, we chose a palette of neon pinks and greens. Each table displayed elegant place settings in vibrant tones, lush florals and colorful tapered candles, bringing vibrancy to the space. Ghost chairs added the perfect modern touch, allowing the tabletops to shine. Chef Anand and CGA Catering created memorable and delicious food stations, serving Indo-Mexican, Indo-Chinese, and Asian street fare that delighted us all with its bold flavors.

When guests returned for the evening cocktail hour and reception, the Green Building had been transformed yet again. Abundant florals in warm tones that matched the ceremony’s palette lined the tabletops, while the floral ceiling display simply stunned. Chef Anand impressed again with a rich 4-course dinner and Nine Cakes wowed with a 5-tiered masterpiece, adding to the flair and brilliance of the day. Handprinted pink watercolor and gold embellishments on each tier were an inspiration, while the unique form and placement of the florals provided even more of a statement. Meaningful personal touches were added to the events with personalized haikus for each of the guests, a Photo Booth by MirMir, and memorable music throughout the day.

Later in the evening, guests found themselves back at 501 Union for an epic dance party, led by DJ Natty Heavy. Pink wisteria and disco balls were suspended from the ceiling, creating a magical and fun atmosphere. It was the perfect way to end the celebration.

We are so honored to have been a part of Meera and Bart’s bold and joyful celebrations. We admire the meaningful and inspiring traditions, flavors, and fashions of Indian weddings. Meera and Bart honored these traditions in a way that was true to themselves, while working with those that are inclusive and whose values mirror their own. We pride ourselves in being worthy of their partnership, and loved every moment. The way in which Mili Ghosh captured the day is pure artwork, and we are thankful for the gorgeous images to keep the day alive in our minds.
