Planners Dining Club: Organized Chaos at Wythe Hotel

As an event planner and designer perfection is often our aim. Organization and coordination our job. We strive for that which is efficient, linear, clean and structured. For our Planners Dining Club at the Wythe Hotel we wanted to take our perfectionist tendencies and throw them on their heads, lean into the unknown and embrace the beauty that can be found in organized chaos.   

We were first inspired by nature’s organic beauty, specifically in the sunset and its warm colors. Hues of red, orange, pink and yellows drove the design scheme and set the tone throughout the space. Design elements were slightly altered and implemented in surprising way to achieve a chaotic and off feel.   

An immense, tumbling, floor-to-ceiling floral installation created by Alexandra Abuza Floral wowed us all with its mix of vibrant colors and varied materials. Such gorgeous inspiration, including multiple messy flower moments throughout the space, provided the perfect example of finding beauty in that which is chaotic. The invites were all individually torn and painted in our sunset hues, while the escort cards were hand-splattered for a truly organic vibe. Fourteen-Forty’s paper magic never ceases to amaze us! 

The Wythe Hotel was the perfect location for this dinner, providing a welcoming and intimate backdrop to the night. Specialty cocktails and a beautiful cheese board in our bold colors added a fun detail of flavor. Even the cake, decorated in colorful citrus playfully accentuated the tone and color scheme. The theme of chaos was also apparent in the table layout, where we embraced a wild zigzag pattern as an alternative to the usual clean lines. And we particularly loved the lounge set up which featured Patina Rental’s colorful statement pieces beautifully. We are thankful for the inspired collaboration with our vendors and to Nato Tuke who captured the evening beautifully.
