Planners Dining Club: Vibrant Rooftop Dinner at Brooklyn Grange
We are strong believers that inspiration can be found everywhere and our Planners Dining Club at the Brooklyn Grange is a testament to that notion. After watching the documentary Wild Wild Country, which tells the story of an Indian guru and his followers, we couldn’t help but be inspired by the rich Indian culture that was depicted. With those incredible elements of color, texture, and pattern in mind, we aimed to create an evening full of life that was sure to be remembered.
We were thrilled when Brooklyn Grange reached out to host our first outdoor planners dining club, as it had been on our wishlist of must-see venues in the city. Their take on sustainable urban farming and all the work that they do to elevate their local community is so inspiring. Plus their rooftop views are out of this world. It was the perfect location to host our globally inspired evening.
Once inspired, there’s no stopping us! We ran with our vibrant vision, infusing the colors and style into every aspect of the evening. East Olivia’s floral installation was a highlight of the evening. Custom wood cutouts adorned with orange, yellow and red flowers hung and draped above the table. Colorful tapered candles, floating flowers and full leis added to the splendor and fun of the design. Leather bound hand drawn menus from the fabulous Fourteen-Forty added both sophistication and texture. While bright colors and mixed materials of the specialty rentals from Rent Patina took the style to the next level. The cocktail lounge incorporated a variety of textures and colors, while the poufs, cushions, and wooden table used for our on-the-floor dinner added pattern and a casual comfort to the event. We even asked that guests incorporate warm orange and yellow tones into their attire, further bringing the spirited tone of the event to life. We love a good theme, and our friends and colleagues had so much fun with it!
Fig + Pig provided an exceptionally tasty experience, drawing upon their own recent travels to Italy. They even kept the spirit of sustainability in mind, sourcing ingredients such as herbs and vegetables from the farm. For us planners, it’s these small touches that make an event so special. Cocktail hour took place amongst the rows of vegetables and herbs, while dinner was had in the company of a lush flower wall. The ambiance of the farm and its views combined with lively music, vivid design, delicious tastes, and laughter of friends made for an al fresco event full of enchantment.
Big thanks to all those we collaborated with who brought our vision to life! And Isabelle Selby Photography, who keeps the memories alive with her gorgeous photos!
