On this week’s episode of Weddings-ish with Jove, we’re joined by the ever-effervescent Liv Schrieber—entrepreneur, connector, and the creative force behind Camp Social. Known as a ray of sunshine both online and IRL, Liv sat down with Jove to talk about her journey from Jersey roots to building a brand that champions friendship, love, and authentic connection.

Born and raised in New Jersey alongside her twin brother—and yes, three goats named Roxy, Mango, and Sparkles—Liv grew up in a family of small business owners. That entrepreneurial spirit shaped her passion for building communities and supporting local businesses. After moving to New York at 21, she realized how isolating the city could feel, even for successful adults. Her solution? Throw parties that weren’t about status or swiping, but about meeting real people.
What began as Hot & Single, a playful experiment to help her brother find love, evolved into Hot & Social, a movement that now gathers hundreds of New Yorkers each month to form friendships, connections, and sometimes romance. “The best part about social media is that it’s social,” Liv shared. “I just want to connect people in real life.”
When it comes to her own love story, Liv’s serendipity rivals any rom-com. The night before she met her now-husband, Kyle, she scribbled a “husband list” that included two non-negotiables: must speak Spanish and must know how to build a fire. The very next day, she stepped into her building’s elevator—garbage bags in hand—and met Kyle. Soon after, a lost Post-it note from the doorman revealed his number, and the rest was history.
Their relationship deepened during a challenging time when Liv’s autoimmune disease flared, leaving her unable to walk. Kyle showed up, carrying her over puddles, into restaurants, and even to the hospital. “The way people act when you’re vulnerable says everything,” Liv reflected. “Kyle didn’t have to be there, but he wanted to be. That’s who he is.”
In true planner fashion, Liv booked her wedding venue before Kyle proposed—ensuring her beloved grandfather could attend. While some might consider this taboo, Liv calls it realistic. “We knew we were getting married. I just wanted my grandpa there, and that meant locking in a summer 2025 date.” With the help of planners Vicki and Amanda of Victoria Dubin Events, she discovered the magic of trusting experts and letting go of control.

Her guest list followed her signature rule: if you wouldn’t FaceTime them at 2 AM, they don’t make the cut. It’s a philosophy that kept her celebration intimate and meaningful despite her vast circle of friends.
Liv’s wedding was filled with deeply personal touches from start to finish. Her parents, who own a leather goods business, handcrafted the linens, napkins, and leather rosettes that adorned the tables, giving the entire celebration a layer of family history. The day also coincided with her father’s sixty-third birthday, and in a moment of pure joy, the band surprised him by performing “Jeremiah Was a Bullfrog” while guests toasted with 1942 tequila.
The couple exchanged vows beneath their chuppah, a moment so powerful Liv described it as feeling the presence of loved ones who had passed. Afterward, she even slipped back into her gown days later to visit her grandfather in the hospital so he could share in the magic too. And when it came to fashion, Liv didn’t hold back. She walked down the aisle in the Saul Rosemary dress—famously featured on And Just Like That—before changing into a pink feather mini for the after-party, and later dazzling in vintage Gucci and Vera Wang over the course of the weekend. She also made the choice to keep her last name, honoring both her professional identity and her family history.
Throughout the conversation, Liv dropped gems of advice—like replacing the dreaded “what do you do?” with “what makes you excited?” or cutting your guest list based on who you’d call at 2 AM. Her signature blend of honesty, humor, and big-hearted energy makes her both a connector and an inspiration.
For Liv, whether it’s through Hot & Social or her own wedding planning journey, the message is clear: connection is everything.
