Episode 26: Heather Thompson
On this episode of Weddings-ish with Jove, Heather Thompson, beloved for her role on Real Housewives of New York City, joins us to share not just her love story, but also her impressive journey in the business fashion world. Heather’s romantic tale with Jonathan is just as enchanting as her entrepreneurial success—filled with serendipity, love, and joy. The couple first crossed paths on the sun-kissed shores of Miami, where an unexpected encounter turned into a lifelong partnership.
In 2003, Heather and Jonathan celebrated their union in the picturesque Berkshires, surrounded by around 300 loved ones at the stunning Gedney Farm. Reflecting on the day, Heather recalls their choice to focus on being present rather than extensively documenting the event. “I don’t have any regrets,” she shares, emphasizing the beauty of living in the moment and cherishing memories in their purest form. Heather’s bridal look was nothing short of iconic. She walked down the aisle in an elegant Vera Wang gown, radiating timeless beauty. Heather’s mother also wore white, because it was important to Heather that everyone wore what made them feel the most beautiful. The wedding was all about family and simplicity. Heather’s nieces served as flower girls, dressed in outfits that made them feel beautiful and confident. This gesture highlighted Heather's focus on comfort and authenticity over convention. To keep the celebration lively and memorable, the couple entertained guests with a 16-piece band, ensuring the dance floor was alive all night long. Adding a personal touch to their festivities, they chose a cheesecake wedding cake, a fun twist on tradition that perfectly reflected their playful spirits. Heather’s down-to-earth approach to life is reflected in her wedding advice. She emphasizes that while weddings are significant, they shouldn’t become a source of stress. “Take it seriously, but not too seriously,” she advises. Her philosophy is simple: focus on the joy, the love, and the people around you. Everything else is just details.
