Planners Dining Club: Idyllic Cheer at Mayflower Inn

Our planners dining club is all about experience and connection, and we love to take that experience upstate any time we have the chance. Nestled in the countryside of Connecticut sits the Mayflower Inn + Spa, the most idyllic of escapes and the setting of one of our brightest suppers. For our special Connecticut weekend, we aimed to lean into the natural charm and joy of the Mayflower Inn, inspired by the surrounding gardens and vintage elegance. We found further style inspiration in a blue and yellow pagoda toile linen from Smith Party Rentals, which we used throughout the dinner. The soft and romantic fabric provided the perfect touch of Connecticut grace and suited the inn perfectly.

The cheer of the blue and yellow toile fabric drove the design focus, and our vendor partners ran with the palette beautifully. Hana Floral Design created the most stunning organic floral arrangements in bright yellows. Soft blues and oranges served as accents, and we couldn’t help but smile at the charming affect.

Fourteen Forty created a stationery suite that modernized the palette, brightening the hues and playing with a bold geometric design that contrasted perfectly with the vintage elements. When combined with the toile linens, vintage plates and elaborate floral arrangements on the tables, the layered effect was stunning! We love a more is more mindset!

We jumped at the opportunity to experience all that the Mayflower offered, which provided us with a weekend full of activities. From old world pastimes such as archery, croquet and moments in nature exploring the history of the area, to softer introspective moments of yoga, reiki, and guided meditations, the Mayflower had it all.

For the dinner itself, we wanted to take advantage of the idyllic outdoor space of the inn and the sweeping lawn served as the perfect spot for our outdoor cocktail hour. The bar served signature cocktails in vintage glassware and small tables dotted the expansive lawn. The sweet sounds of a string duet further set the pastoral mood. From there, the party moved inside for dinner where guests delighted in an intimate space and delicious food.

The opportunity to play with patterns old and new for this planners dining club was so fun, and we loved taking the time to slow down with our industry friends amidst such beauty. We are so thankful to the Mayflower Inn for the taste of New England luxury and the time spent amidst such a picturesque setting. And a huge thanks to Carla Ten Eyck for capturing every ideal moment.
