A Fashion Forward + Intimate Welcome Dinner at Rosewood Miramar Beach Santa Barbara

The Venue: Rosewood Miramar Beach

The Rosewood Miramar Beach in Santa Barbara offered a garden setting just steps from the ocean that felt quietly spectacular for Kennedy and Gerson’s fashion-forward, intimate West Coast welcome dinner. Designed as a gathering for their closest friends—while a larger family celebration took place nearby—the evening unfolded within the broader rhythm of the Miramar property, where guests were staying for the weekend. With its expansive grounds, palm-lined paths, and oceanfront lawns, the resort created a sense of ease and continuity, allowing guests to move effortlessly between their accommodations and the celebration itself. The proximity of the garden to both the coastline and the guest rooms fostered a relaxed, communal energy—one that encouraged lingering conversations, spontaneous reunions, and a shared feeling of being fully immersed in the place. It was a setting that made the weekend feel cohesive and intentional, grounded in the natural beauty and understated elegance of Santa Barbara.

The Design

The tablescape came together through a thoughtful layering of material, color, and restraint, anchored by Kennedy’s love of deep brown tones. A substantial wooden table set directly on the grass immediately grounded the design, creating a warm, fashion-forward foundation that felt timeless rather than styled. Earthy stoneware dishware in soft, muted hues added depth and tactility, their imperfect finishes complementing the natural setting and reinforcing the sense that the table was meant to be used and enjoyed, not just admired. Sculptural ceramic vessels in mossy greens and organic forms held restrained floral arrangements, allowing negative space and texture to carry the visual weight. The paper design was intentionally subtle—natural stock with delicate, hand-drawn floral details and refined typography—layered seamlessly atop the dishware and wood. Together, the elements felt cohesive and lived-in, striking a quiet balance between intention and ease, and inviting guests to settle in, linger, and experience the evening as it unfolded naturally.

The Fashion

Kennedy and Gerson’s fashion choices felt deeply considered and entirely of the moment. Kennedy’s look was strikingly modern, defined by clean lines, movement, and a sculptural white gown that played with volume in a way that felt expressive rather than traditional. Delicate straps and a softly voluminous skirt gave the dress an ease that suited the outdoor setting, while her sculptural gold shoes introduced a bold, artful edge—an unexpected detail that elevated the look and grounded it in a distinctly contemporary sensibility. Gerson’s style offered a quiet counterbalance, pairing a dark, textured jacket with a simple black top to create a look that felt tailored yet relaxed. Together, their fashion choices moved in harmony—her softness against his restraint—resulting in a visual language that was confident, personal, and reflective of a couple unafraid to approach celebration through a modern lens.
